About Us
The Institute on Health Disparities, Equity and the Exposome (IHDEE) is a backbone organization which seeks to improve the health of medically underserved and socially vulnerable populations through research and training within the context of service. Our mission is to align, coordinate and leverage public health partners and resources through academic and community collaboration. We serve as a statewide leader at the center of multisector collaboration to promote health equity and provide opportunities for siloed individuals and organizations to work together in a coordinated and systematic way. From our inception during the COVID-19 global pandemic, we have expanded our efforts to address the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases (including provision of all recommended vaccines), mental health, barriers to health care and social determinants of health.
